ADV Motorcycle Tours by Region: Best Guided Routes in Spain
If you’ve never done one before, a guided adventure motorcycle tour is one of the greatest experiences you can have on two wheels.
The chance to explore some of the finest locales in the world, at locations already curated by an expert team of tour guides and tour operators, means there’s very little stress for you.
All you have to do is bring your gear, show up, and ride. If you go on a group ride, you’ll be meeting up with other like-minded riders, too. A perfect opportunity to make some life-long friends.
Most tour companies have motorcycles for you to rent, too. The nice thing about that is you can likely stay on the same (or similar) type of Adventure motorcycle you already own, such as one of our favorites, the BMW GS.
Or if they have it, you can take a model you’ve been dying to try for one epic test ride.
There are so many places to go and so many sights to see. Not surprisingly, Europe is one of the most popular destinations for motorcycle tourism. Here, we’re going to focus on Spain.
Spain is filled with some of the most beautiful cities in the world, along with some amazing scenery, making it a motorcyclist’s paradise. Here, let’s explore some of the best tours in Spain.

Book Motorcycle Tours
Book Motorcycle Tours offers six guided tours for the dedicated Adventure/Enduro rider of all skill levels (yes, even beginners), ranging from two-day tours to eight-day tours and ranging in cost from $384 to $1592 (All prices US). Most include airport transfers, too.
If you choose the two-day $384 package, rest assured you will still be getting an action-packed adventure for your money. The tour is centered in Barcelona, and you get your choice of Enduro bike similar to the Suzuki DRZ 400.
Each day will start and finish at your base hotel in Barcelona, then venture to different points along the Spanish countryside where you can experience breathtaking mountain ranges, winding roads, and water crossings. Breakfast and dinner will be provided.
Jumping to the other end of the spectrum, the 5-day guided off-road tour will take you across Catalonia, the Spanish Pyrenees, and Andorra. Here, the route will largely take you through mountain tracks, forest trails, and secondary roads, with a day’s ride consisting of anywhere between 80- to 124 miles. You’ll travel all over Spain, with stops in Andorra, Cerdanya, Pallars Sobira, Alt Urgell, and Val D’Aran.

Hispania Tours
Hispania Motorcycle Tours offers both guided and self-guided tours in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and The Alps, and is an official partner with BMW Motorrad. So if you’d like to ride something familiar, like your R1200GS, Hispania has you covered. Then again, if you’d like to sample something else from the BMW family, they can probably make that happen, too.
Focusing just on the guided tours, since that’s the theme of this post, Hispania offers no less than six tours in Spain, including one that takes you down to Morocco to explore the “Moorish Pearls.”
Other tours include a deep dive into the beauty of Andalusia and Southern Spain, with a special Andalusian tour over the Christmas and New Year's holiday, in case the cold weather in your hometown has you itching to leave. Tours in Central Spain and even Portugal are available, too, if you don’t mind venturing a little out of the Spanish border.
Tours range from one to two weeks with prices ranging accordingly. Rest days are typically scheduled into the longer tours, so you can enjoy a day off the motorcycle and play tourist.
Four-star accommodations are also typical, where available. While you’ll get to see some amazing scenery, don’t expect any aggressive adventure riding on these tours. A groomed fire road is likely the most adventure you’ll see. Get more information at Hispania Tours.

GSmotorcycletours.com
With a name like that, it should be obvious what GS Motorcycle Tours specializes in. With the ability to customize tours depending on the wants, needs, and skillsets of the participants, GS Motorcycle Tours is one to consider.
Like the others here, they offer a mixture of tours, from weekend trips to week-long adventures (including a tour of one of the few deserts in Europe). However, it’s the Trail Tours they offer that should appeal to GS riders.
Typically motorcycle tour companies provide limited off-road routes, to protect themselves, their customers, and the motorcycles (although you’re typically required to pay for damages or purchase an insurance plan).
On the GS Motorcycle Tour Trail Tour, the route is catered specifically towards those with off-road experience. The exact route isn’t finalized until a few days prior to your arrival to account for weather and possible closures, but they promise a “mix of green lane, off-road, and tarmac...suitable to riders who have off-road experience.”
Four-day and two-day trail tours are available, as is your choice of GS motorcycle. In fact, if you prefer, GS Motorcycle Tour offers everything except your plane ride to Spain and their home base at Velez de Benaudalla. Get more information here.
Edelweiss Bike Travel
When it comes to motorcycle tours in Spain, or anywhere else in the world, nobody does it better than Edelweiss Bike Travel. No really, Edelweiss actually has tours that go around the world. It’s not for the faint of heart!
Focusing on Spain and adventure, we’ll turn to the Edelweiss Adventure Tour, where, as they put it:we will discover exotic destinations, which only few people have traveled with their motorcycles, immerse into the adventurous flair and will sometimes even leave our comfort zone. For our Adventure tours you don’t need to be an off-road expert, however, the condition of the grounds varies from tour to tour – these tours offer everything from asphalted streets to gravel roads and even grass-, field- and forest roads on our unpaved tours.
On the Andalusia Unpaved tour, you’ll travel on- and off-road through the Sierra Nevada, with five riding days covering a total of 640 miles. Along the way, you’ll visit the beautiful towns of Antequera, the Sierra de las Nieves, Garganta del Chorro, and El Torcal, with a stop in Ronda before heading back to the start/finish in Pizarra.
